Balack’s Cove

FINALLY, we reach the end of the Tribal Isles. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had just about enough of this infernal island. How many mice can one little area hold, anyway? Good grief.

Actually, this next area diverges from the previous sections of the island. No more hunting for stones or seeds; no more making pepper plants. This area uses a whole new kind of cheese and therefore there is a whole new kind of strategy here. While the earlier Tribal Isles were closer to Furoma, this is more reminiscent of Bristle Woods and how it cycles. So fans of Bristle Woods, rejoice! We’re back to familiar ground.

I want to make this warning in advance: While Balack’s Cove is the final area in Mousehunt, there is absolutely no reason to come here, story-wise. Balack does not drop any loot that may have future use right now, and while he may do so in the future, he is currently just a mouse to catch for collection’s sake. With that in mind, don’t stress over this area- it’s not required in any way.

Quick Recap

  • You’ve crafted the ice maiden and used it to catch some mice in Dracano
  • While in Dracano, you collected at least 3 dragon embers as loot from the mice there
  • Hopefully (though not required), you caught a dragon mouse and took its chest

Preparing for Adventure

I mentioned in the prior section that those dragon embers are going to serve a purpose, so head back to Cape Clawed and pick up an antique lantern for 90,000. Combine it with your three dragon embers to make… Balack’s Lantern! Congrats, now you are ready to enter Balack’s Cove.

However, if you choose to enter right now, you’ll quickly realize that you’re not going to get anywhere with it. The problem is that you don’t have the right cheese. As a matter of fact, you’ll be using an entirely brand-new kind of cheese here.

Did you ever try using gouda in the Jungle of Dread, just for kicks? If you did, you might have discovered that there is another breed of mouse dwelling in the Jungle. Rather, there’s a whole swarm of them. I am of course referring to the “Swarm of Pigmy Mice” mouse (is that technically correct, the mice mouse? I dunno- makes me tongue tied.)

These mice carry a specific piece of loot: the Vanilla Bean. Now, I don’t know about you, but I love vanilla, and if I were able, I’d probably just keep the beans for myself and add them to my drink later (typically after a long hunt, that would be a rather stiff drink, too.) However, we don’t have that option. Instead, we have to use the vanilla bean to craft some new cheese. That cheese is known as Stilton cheese. To make this Vanilla Stilton, we need the following ingredients:

15 C&W + 15 Salt + 15 Coconut Milk + 15 Vanilla Beans = 15 Vanilla Stilton
*or*
15 C&W + 15 Salt + 15 Coconut Milk + 15 Magic Essence + 5 Vanilla Beans = 15 Vanilla Stilton

As you can see, SB+ adds a bonus to your ability to craft; quite a significant one, too. However, you also have to use quite a bit of SB+ in the process. That makes it incredibly expensive for non-donors to go this route. As always, I’m a firm believer in never needing to use SB+, so don’t feel pressured to do so. However, if you’ve got some lying around, there has rarely been a better time to use it. You’ll be catching a LOT of pigmy swarms to get beans, so any reduction in that number is a welcome reduction!

See, as was true in earlier parts of the isle, you’re going to need more than just one batch of Stilton. As a matter of fact, you’ll need a LOT of Stilton. Figure on making 20 batches of the stuff (300 pieces), which means you need to get 300 (or 100) vanilla beans. Like I said, SB+ cuts down on the time by a significant amount!

Once you’ve made your Stilton (you can make as many batches as you want to start, really), relocate yourself to Balack’s Cove!

Balack’s Cove

We know what cheese we’re using, but we haven’t really discussed trap setups. Fortunately you don’t need any new traps here; however, which trap you use depends entirely upon you. As the description implies, you can use Shadow, Arcane or Forgotten Traps. That means the Clockapult, the ACRoNYM or the ABT. All three of them have their own uses in this area, too.

The Clockapult will have the lowest catch rate of the three in the cove. However, the description of the area also states that the cove will periodically wash hunters out. This means that randomly, you will get kicked from the cove and sent back to the jungle of dread (much like the forbidden grove to the acolyte realm). However, it doesn’t cycle like the FG/AR did. Rather, once you’ve been kicked out, you’re let back in after about one horn-blowing cycle, or about 10-15 minutes. When that happens, you’ll be using your stilton on the swarm of pigmy mice.
Where does the clock fit into all this, you may ask. Well, if you’re not planning to watch your camp very closely (those of us with demanding jobs or classes please raise your hand) are more likely to be caught unawares and swept from the cove. When this happens, if you’re NOT using a shadow trap, those pigmy mice will run all over your trap and you won’t catch any of them. However, if you have your clockapult equipped, you’ll be able to keep catching pigmy mice even after you leave, which will allow you to collect more vanilla beans, which will mitigate the lost stilton cheese used in the Jungle.

If you’re not worried about these things, skip the clock, and pick between the Acro and the ABT. The ACRoNYM works especially well on most of the mice in the cove. However, there are three mice (which I’ll discuss in a minute) that are especially weak to the Ancient Box Trap. If your goal is exclusively to catch these three mice, the Nerg Lich, Elub Lich and Derr Lich, equip your ABT. However, if your goal is to maximize points and gold, use the ACRoNYM.

My personal advice is to use the ABT. Originally, I would have said go with the Acro; you get more points overall if you use the Acro, and while you may not get the lich mice quite as fast, what’s the hurry? However, having actually spent a real amount of time here, I can tell you that collecting vanilla beans from the pygmy mice is awful and takes forever. Since you’re ultimately trying to get Balack (if only to fill in the silhouettes), the less time spent getting the beans, the better. The ABT will maximize the speed at which you can reach Balack.

Of course, once you’ve caught Balack, if you decide to stay, go back to the Acro!

As for which base you use: If you have the magma base, use it. If you were unable to get a magma base, the molten shrapnel base provides nearly identical stats to the magma base and therefore will provide nearly identical results. However, to get that, you need 200 scrap metal! That takes a REALLY long time, be it from hunting in the catacombs or from hunting in the Lagoon. It’s an extremely good base, but it is kind of a hassle to collect the parts for.

If you’re not interested in doing so, use the aqua base with the ACRoNYM. The power/luck combo does more for the trap than just the power of something like the tribal base.

As always, we need to pay attention to what we’re doing here: we want to catch the Derr Lich, the Elub Lich and the Nerg Lich mice. These poor mice were enslaved by Balack years ago and it’s pretty frightening to see what an eternity of enslavement does to a mouse!

These three mice hold the key to the next part of the puzzle. Each one drops a specific piece of loot- the Derr lich drops Bottled-Up Rage, the Nerg Lich drops Raisins of Wrath, and the Elub Lich drops a Pinch of Annoyance. Put together, these ingredients make a whole new kind of cheese called Vengeful Stilton.

1 Pinch of Annoyance + 1 Raisins of Wrath + 1 Bottled-Up Rage + 1 Vanilla Bean + 1 C&W + 1 Ionized Salt + 1 Coconut Milk = 1 Vengeful Stilton
*or*
1 Pinch of Annoyance + 1 Raisins of Wrath + 1 Bottled-Up Rage + 1 Vanilla Bean + 1 C&W + 1 Ionized Salt + 1 Coconut Milk + 3 Magic Essence = 3 Vengeful Stilton

This Vengeful Vanilla Stilton attracts most of the same mice that regular Vanilla Stilton did, except that it attracts the three lich mice with greater frequency and, if you’re lucky, it will attract Balack the Banished himself. At this point, equip your Ancient Box Trap- your Acro is useless against Balack. Also remove the Aqua base and equip the Tribal base.

While not quite as powerful as the dragon, Balack is difficult to catch in the same way that the Acolyte was a hassle- it’s a very tough mouse AND it’s not common. 300 Vanilla Stilton is probably a bare minimum amount to collect enough wrath, rage and annoyance bits to combine into the requisite Vengeful Stilton to finally nab Balack.

But once you’ve gotten him, you are done with the Tribal Isles! For good! Unless you’re looking to climb the scoreboard, of course- the cove does wonders for you point total!

Crash Course

Hello there! As you know, I have compiled a guide of how-to-play for the Facebook game of MouseHunt. As I said on the front page, the goal is to provide an in-depth look at what you can do and a look at why you do it.

However, I’ve been getting numerous messages/emails asking for a more direct approach. For better or for worse, not everyone wants to know why they’re doing something- they just want a direct list of “Go here, then here” in an elaborate form of hand-holding.

So let’s hold hands, in a totally we’re-friends-but-let’s-not-blow-this-out-of-proportion manner. This is not going to explain anything any more than is absolutely necessary. If you want explanations, consult the larger guide. In this portion we’re going to be very direct and to the point- this is what you should do and when.

If you need any help with crafting recipes, consult the MH Kitchen Crafting Guide (click “more info” on the information sidebar)

Let’s not waste any more time then, shall we?

- Use Cheddar cheese
- When you save up the money, purchase the Wooden Base with Target.

- Hunt in Town of Gnawnia
- Purchase the 500 pound spiked crusher
- Switch to Marble cheese
- Do Not purchase the Stone Base. The Wooden Base with Target is better
- Purchase the Mouse Trebuchet

Apprentice

- Move to the Harbour
- Purchase the Swiss Army Mouse Trap. While in Gnawnia, purchase and switch to Swiss Cheese
- Do Not purchase another base. Once again, the Wooden Base with Target is better
- Look for the Whisker Woods Clearing Map Piece that’s dropped by a Granite Mouse

Journeyman

- Move to the Mountain
- Get a Burroughs Laboratory Map Piece from a Ninja Mouse

- Collect Radioactive Blue Curd Potions from Steel, Granite and Bionic mice. 30 if you’re going to use brie, 10 if you’re going to use Superbrie+

- Once you have 140,600 gold, travel to The Town of Digby and purchase a Sinister Portal
- Travel to the Mousoleum, equip a Sinister Portal, an Explosive Base, and Radioactive Blue Cheese. Do not use any other trap or cheese
- Get a Shredded Furoma Map Piece from a Lycan Mouse
- If you run out of Radioactive Blue Cheese, but do not have a map piece, either go to the Laboratory and collect more potions, or go to Digby, collect Meteorite Pieces from Granite Mice, and craft Moon Cheese (recipe found here). You can also go to Digby and get it from a Mole Mouse
- Leave the mousoleum once you’ve gotten the map piece- don’t use the rest of your Radioactive Blue

- Travel to the Great Gnarled Tree
- Purchase the Venus Mouse Trap
- Catch a Fairy Mouse and collect the Lagoon Map Piece
- Get 20 Radioactive Sludge; hunt in the GGT with Radioactive Blue using your Sinister Portal and Explosive base to do this the fastest.
- Finish the rank of Master in the GGT with the Venus Mouse Trap

Grandmaster

- Travel to Training Grounds
- Smash your Venus Mouse Trap and combine it with 20 radioactive sludge to create the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap
- Hunt in the Training Grounds with the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap, the Explosive Base (Polar Base if you have it) and Brie Cheese. Do NOT try to use other traps, such as the Force Field or a Digby Drillbot.
- Collect a Ticket to the Burroughs Bazaar from either an Archer Mouse, a Kung Fu Mouse or an Assassin Mouse.
- Buy 19 splintered wood (or as much as you need to have 19 total), 250 Curds & Whey, 10 Burroughs Salmon, 10 Nori and 3 Rice Paper from the Training Grounds General Store.

- You need to collect 95,000 gold. The best way to do that is to head to the Great Gnarled Tree.

- Attempt to catch the master mouse of the corresponding school. Once you have caught one mouse, stop using that cheese, for now
- Get ONE of each master mouse

- If you have not gotten the Ambush Blueprints already from either a Worker Mouse or an Assassin Mouse, go to the Meditation Room or Pinnacle Chamber and get them from a Hapless Mouse
- Collect 62,000 gold and purchase 8 Droid Parts from the bazaar general store. Also buy 5 Ionized Salt
- If you are less than a 70% Grandmaster, attempt to craft the Ambush Trap. If you fail, collect the parts again and hold them until you reach Legendary. If you are at least 70% Grandmaster, then save them for Legendary anyway.
- Whether you get the Ambush or not, head back to the Dojo and continue hunting, with either your Ambush or with the other trap you had if you failed to successfully craft the Ambush.

Legendary

- Craft the Ambush Trap, if you weren’t successful
- Craft as much Glutter, Susheese, and Combat cheese as you can
- Go to the Meditation room and catch as many Master of the Cheese mice as you can. Do not craft the Master’s Seal with the shards
- Craft Rumble Cheese using the 3-piece method
- Head to the Pinnacle Chamber and catch at least one Master of the Dojo Mouse and get the Onyx Stone

- Go to the Bazaar and repair your Tattered Mousoleum Map. If you cannot afford it, go to the Laboratory and collect the gold.
- While the map is being repaired, go to the Laboratory again and collect more Radioactive Blue Curd Potions. You need about 30 (or 10, if you’re using SB+) more potions
- Once you have 316,350 gold, head to the Catacombs. If you get enough potions before having enough gold, head back to the Great Gnarled Tree to collect the gold
- Purchase the Obelisk of Slumber
- In the Catacombs, collect 12 Scrap Metal from the Scavenger Mouse and Terror Knight Mouse, as well as getting 632,700 gold
- Also, get a Keeper’s Candle which is dropped by the Keeper Mouse

MouseHunt Walkthrough -section 4-

The original post :http://interactive.onlinemathlearning.com/mh-index.php

MouseHunt is a Facebook game where you set traps to catch various weird and wacky mice. Over the years it has developed into a content-rich game, with many paths and possible strategies. It is fun to explore, but there are certain areas where new players might get lost in, not knowing what to do next. That's what this guide is here for. :) The following information is the result of experience and the study of the MouseHunting community.

Chapter 13: S.S. Huntington II

# Once you have crafted the Ship, a new location opens, the S.S. Huntington II. Time to sail off to the great unknown! Who knows what strange lands one might discover?
# We had ninjas and their kin covered in Furoma; now it's the pirates' turn in the limelight. Yarr! The mice here are a mix of Tactical and Hydro types.
# You do not need any special cheese for this area; Brie will do fine. Now let's look at weapon and base choices.
# There is a trapsmith here; let's check it out. They sell two weapons, the Harpoon Gun and the Net Cannon, both of the Hydro type, and one base, the Aqua Base.
# At 664,000 gold for one of the weapons, you may not be able to afford them. So what do you use instead? If you have the PartyBot, use it here. If you don't, the Ambush trap doesn't do too bad here, as there are many Tactical mice here, some of which award a fair amount of gold. (They are, after all, pirates.) Or you can (you guessed it) go back to the Catacombs to make more gold.
# If or when you do have the gold, which should you buy? It's a bit of a toss up. The power bonus of the Harpoon Gun catch slightly more mice than the luck of the Net Cannon, but the luck may be useful for maximizing loot drops here and in the next locations.
# Regardless, there is an easy way of converting between the two. Smashing either weapon with your Hunter's Hammer will yield Launcher Parts. Crafting the Launcher Parts alone will construct the Harpoon Gun, and crafting the Launcher Parts with 1 Rope (from the Lagoon General Store) will construct the Net Cannon.
# The Aqua Base is notable for having the highest Luck of all available bases. Go ahead and buy it as it will be useful for maximizing loot drops.
# Catch the Bottled Mouse with the Compass, the Captain Mouse with the Telescope, and the Shipwrecked Mouse with the Sextant.
# Craft these items together to get the Ocean Navigation Kit. This is the key to the next set of locations, the Tribal Isles. You can then move on to the next chapter.

Chapter 14: The Tribal Isles

* Note: These are very new locations. New things are still being discovered and as such the information here is tentative.
* The Tribal Isles consist of six locations:
  • Cape Clawed
  • Elub Shore
  • Nerg Plains
  • Derr Dunes
  • Jungle of Dread
  • Dracano (not accessible at this time)
 * In this chapter we will be covering the first four locations.
* You will want to visit Cape Clawed first.
* You don't really want to hunt here; the mice here aren't worth much points or gold, and any new types can be found in the next locations. You are basically here to check out the shoppes.
* The Cheese Shoppe sells a new kind of cheese, Gouda cheese. Should you upgrade? If you're after points and loot drops, you should; if you're short on gold, Brie would be the more economical choice.
* Note the Tribal Base sold at the Trapsmith. It has the highest power bonus available in the game. It does, however, require 14 million points, so you may not have the points yet.
* You are now ready to hunt in the next locations:
o The Elub Shore mice are of the Hydro type. Use the Harpoon Gun or Net Cannon here. The mice here drop Seashells and tend to be worth more points than gold.
o The Nerg Plains mice are of the Tactical type. Use the Ambush here. The mice here drop Savoury Vegetables and are somewhat balanced between points and gold.
o The Derr Dunes mice are of the Physical type. Use the PartyBot or Digby Drillbot here. (The ACRONYM, though effective on Physical mice in previous locations, is ineffective here.) The mice here drop Delicious Stones and tend to be worth more gold than points.
* I recommend you use the Aqua Base to maximize loot drops in those locations.
* The loot is needed to craft three types of special cheese. (In fact you can also collect all three kinds of loot from Cape Clawed, but as I said, the mice there aren't worth much). They are as follows (all recipes make 15 pieces):
o Shell
+ 30 Seashells
+ 10 Coconut Milk
+ 60 Curds and Whey
+ 40 Salt
o Gumbo
+ 30 Savoury Vegetables
+ 15 Coconut Milk
+ 90 Curds and Whey
+ 1 Salt
o Crunchy
+ 30 Delicious Stones
+ 20 Coconut Milk
+ 10 Curds and Whey
+ 30 Salt
* Coconut Milk, Curds and Whey, and Salt are all available at the Cape Clawed General Store.
* If you have the SUPER|brie+ to spare, you may add 5 Magic Essence to any of the above recipes to create 5 more pieces of that cheese.
* Once you have crafted these cheeses, hunt with them in Cape Clawed.
o The Shell cheese attracts the Elder mouse which drops the Ancient Spear. Use the Harpoon Gun or Net Cannon.
o The Gumbo cheese attracts the Grandfather mouse which drops the Thorned Vine. Use the Ambush.
o The Crunchy cheese attracts the Aged mouse which drops the Rhino Horn. Use the PartyBot or Digby Drillbot.
* You only need one each of these loot items; once you have the item, stop hunting with that cheese.
* You may have noticed some blueprints for sale at the Cape Clawed General Store. They are for three ultimate traps: The Ancient Spear Launcher, the Thorned Venus Mouse Trap, and the RhinoBot.
Note the different point requirements as stated in the blueprint descriptions.
* If you have the points required (and can afford the blueprints), you can craft the traps using these recipes:
o Ancient Spear Launcher (Hydro), 12 million points required:
+ 1 Ancient Spear Launcher Blueprints
+ 1 Ancient Spear
+ 1 Launcher Parts (obtainable by smashing the Harpoon Gun or Net Cannon)
o Thorned Venus Mouse Trap (Tactical), 8 million points required:
+ 1 Thorned Mouse Trap Plans
+ 1 Thorned Vine
+ 1 Venus Mouse Trap Husk (obtainable by smashing the Venus Mouse Trap or the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap)
o Ah, but why stop there? Note that the Thorned Venus Mouse Trap can be smashed to create the Thorned Venus Mouse Trap Husk. Hmm...
+ Those of you who have crafted the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap may have guessed what comes next.
+ That's right, Dr. Frankenstein. You need another 20 Radioactive Sludge. Use Radioactive Blue in the Town of Gnawnia with your stalest trap setup to acquire them.
+ Now craft the 20 Radioactive Sludge with your Thorned Venus Mouse Trap Husk to create the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap! Muahahaha!
o RhinoBot (Physical), 16 million points required:
+ 1 RhinoBot Blueprints
+ 1 Rhino Horn
+ 1 Digby Drillbot Parts (obtainable by smashing the Digby Drillbot)
+ 24 Stale SUPER|brie+. How do you acquire these?
# The obvious answer is to obtain SUPER|brie+ and use it in a location where it is ineffective, like the Forbidden Grove, with your stalest trap setup.
# The not-so-obvious answer is to craft Runic cheese, and use it in the Town of Gnawnia with your stalest trap setup. Runic cheese also becomes Stale SUPER|brie+ when it turns stale.
# You may note that the Aged Mouse also drops Stale SUPER|brie+; you can catch more of them to get the needed amount.
* With these traps, your hunting performance in these isles should significantly improve. Don't forget to pick up the Tribal Base when you can, as the power bonus is extremely useful for these high-powered setups.
* If you don't have enough points or gold to craft them yet, don't worry. The tribal camp mice are great for that; as mentioned earlier, go to the Elub Shore for points, the Derr Dunes for gold, or the Nerg Plains if you need some of both.
* There is another thing you can do with the crafted cheeses: collecting Pepper Seeds. For that you must hunt in the appropriate tribal camp:
  •  Use the Shell cheese in the Elub Shore to attract Champion, Protector, and Elub Chieftain mice, which drop the Blue Pepper Seed. The Chieftain may also drop the Ancient Frayed Blueprint Piece.
  • Use the Gumbo cheese in the Nerg Plains to attract Defender, Slayer, and Nerg Chieftain mice, which drop the Yellow Pepper Seed. The Chieftain may also drop the Ancient Ripped Blueprint Piece.
  • Use the Crunchy cheese in the Derr Dunes to attract Gladiator, Guardian, and Derr Chieftain mice, which drop the Red Pepper Seed. The Chieftain may also drop the Ancient Mangled Blueprint Piece.
* These mice are extremely tough and are best caught with the new crafted traps, but if you do not have the points or gold required to craft them, you may find success with the regular traps.
* Collect as many Pepper Seeds as you can. Once you have collected a decent amount, and are at least Hero rank (there was so much to do as Legendary, that you might be there already), you may move on to the next chapter.
* As for the blueprint pieces, you'll be needing one of each, and also a fourth piece, the Ancient Torn Blueprint Piece, that is available at the Cape Clawed General Store for 158,175 gold. You can then combine all four pieces to get the Ancient Box Blueprints.
* You don't need this immediately; if you can't get all of the pieces, you can come back later.

Chapter 15: Jungle of Dread (Hero)

* Before venturing into the Jungle of Dread, preparations will need to be made.
* Firstly, what trap would you use? The mice in the Jungle of Dread are of the Shadow type. However, unlike the shadow mice in previous locations, these mice are resistant to Arcane type traps like the ACRONYM.
* Fortunately, the Cape Clawed trapsmith stocks Shadow type traps.
* Three of the traps will look familiar: the Sinister and Ambrosial Portals, and the Bottomless Grave.
* There is also a new trap, the Clockapult of Time. This is the best trap of the bunch, but note that it costs 2.7 million gold and requires 20 million points in your bag.
* So if you don't have the gold and/or points, you can try the Bottomless Grave instead. The Sinister Portal is not likely to be sufficient against these strong mice.
* Secondly, what cheese would you use? Note the description of the Jungle of Dread states something about a cheese made with peppers. As you may have guessed, the pepper seeds are your key to this.
* Pepper seeds aren't quite peppers though, at least not yet. So what are you waiting for? Get some Plant Pots from the Cape Clawed General Store, and get ready to do some gardening!
* As the description of the Pepper Seeds state, two Pepper Seeds of the same color crafted with a Plant Pot will get a Pepper Plant of that color.
o 2 Blue Pepper Seeds + 1 Plant Pot = 1 Magical Blue Pepper Plant
o 2 Yellow Pepper Seeds + 1 Plant Pot = 1 Sweet Yellow Pepper Plant
o 2 Red Pepper Seeds + 1 Plant Pot = 1 Spicy Red Pepper Plant
* Ah, but what happens if you plant two different Pepper Seeds in the same pot? It turns out, like in art class (but quite unlike biology class…), the colors "mix" to produce more colors of Pepper Plant!
o 1 Blue Pepper Seed + 1 Yellow Pepper Seed + 1 Plant Pot = 1 Crunchy Green Pepper Plant
o 1 Blue Pepper Seed + 1 Red Pepper Seed + 1 Plant Pot = 1 Pungent Purple Pepper Plant
o 1 Yellow Pepper Seed + 1 Red Pepper Seed + 1 Plant Pot = 1 Creamy Orange Pepper Plant
* These Pepper Plants appear in the "Misc" tab of your inventory. All the plants can be picked immediately to produce between 1 and 5 peppers of that type. Say it with me, "Plankrun peppily picked a peck of prismic peppers…"
* *ahem* Anyway, these peppers can be crafted with supplies from the Cape Clawed General Store to create new kinds of cheese, collectively known as Havarti:
o 6 Magical Blue Pepper + 2 Coconut Milk + 18 Curds and Whey + 6 Salt = 6 Magical Havarti
o 6 Sweet Yellow Pepper + 6 Coconut Milk + 18 Curds and Whey + 6 Salt = 6 Sweet Havarti
o 6 Spicy Red Pepper + 12 Coconut Milk + 18 Curds and Whey + 6 Salt = 6 Spicy Havarti
o 6 Crunchy Green Pepper + 4 Coconut Milk + 18 Curds and Whey + 6 Salt = 6 Crunchy Havarti
o 6 Pungent Purple Pepper + 8 Coconut Milk + 18 Curds and Whey + 6 Salt = 6 Pungent Havarti
o 6 Creamy Orange Pepper + 10 Coconut Milk + 18 Curds and Whey + 6 Salt = 6 Creamy Havarti
* Once you have your trap and your cheese (whew!), you can now hunt in the Jungle of Dread.
* Each type of Havarti attracts a different mouse in the Jungle of Dread, which each drop a unique part of a new trap:
  • Magical Havarti attracts the Stonework Warrior Mouse, which drops the Engraved Solid Stone Slab.
  • Sweet Havarti attracts the Primal Mouse, which drops the Ethereal Rope.
  • Spicy Havarti attracts the Magma Carrier Mouse, which drops the Encrusted Metal of Time.
  • Crunchy Havarti attracts the Fetid Swamp Mouse, which drops the Hinge of Eternity.
  • Pungent Havarti attracts the Chitinous Mouse, which drops the Timeless Mystic Gem.
  • Creamy Havarti attracts the Jurassic Mouse, which drops the Ancient Relic Staff.
* These mice also may drop Fire Salt and Runic Potions.
* Collect as much Fire Salt as you can. About 18 would do.
* Runic potions may be used to convert Gouda or SUPER|brie+ cheese to Runic cheese (at great cost), for use back in the Acolyte Realm.
* You'll need one each of the six trap parts. Combine them with the Ancient Box Blueprints (details in previous chapter) to create a new trap, the Ancient Box Trap. Note that this requires 7 ingredients, so you must be at least a Knight to safely craft it.
* At long last! The Ancient Box Trap is of the Forgotten type, which is effective against Arcane type mice like the Acolyte Mouse back in the Acolyte Realm. Now you can catch them and collect their Mysterious Box with (relative) ease!
* Once you collect a Mysterious Box, open it. You want a Frozen Scroll. If you do not manage to get the Frozen Scroll, you'll have to catch more Acolytes.
* Once you have the Frozen Scroll, collect 60 Runes from the Forbidden Grove. Do not use them to make Runic cheese.
* You'll never guess what you'll need next. It's none other than the High Tension Spring trap. If you don't already have it, you need to go back to the Town of Gnawnia to get it.
* Smash the High Tension Spring trap to get High Tension Spring Parts.
* Once you've done that, you can make a new trap, the Ice Maiden:
  • 1 Frozen Scroll + 60 Runes + 1 High Tension Spring Parts = Ice Maiden
* Once you have crafted it, you may move on to the next chapter.

Chapter 16: Dracano (Knight)

* Note: This is a very new location. New things are still being discovered and as such the information here is tentative.
* You'll need to have crafted the Ice Maiden trap. If you don't have it yet, please refer to the previous chapter.
* Also, make sure you have a good supply of Pepper Seeds of the three different colors. About 10 of each would do.
* Now, use those seeds to craft the Inferno Pepper Plant:
  • 1 Blue Pepper Seed + 1 Yellow Pepper Seed + 1 Red Pepper Seed + 1 Plant Pot = 1 Inferno Pepper Plant
  • Unlike art class, this pepper plant is white.
* Like the previous plants, this can be picked to yield between 1 and 5 Inferno Peppers, to make Inferno Havarti:
  • 6 Inferno Pepper + 16 Coconut Milk + 18 Curds and Whey + 6 Fire Salt = 6 Inferno Havarti
* Now arm your Ice Maiden, Tribal Base, and Inferno Havarti, and travel to Dracano.
* There are three types of mice in Dracano: the Whelpling, the Draconic Warden, and the Dragon. The Dragon is your main target, though the other two aren't exactly horrible catches either.
* Catching the Dragon will net you lots of gold, points, and a Dragon's Chest. Its use is currently unknown. Try to catch as many as possible, backtracking to collect more Pepper Seeds and Fire Salt as necessary.
* If you are bored of this area, you can go back to catch any mice you've missed, or you can try joining a Hunting Party and competing in group tournaments. (link goes to wiki for now; I may include an appendix in the future.)
* MouseHunt is an evolving game; the developers are constantly working to add new locations, mice, items, and goals to the game. Furthermore, the MouseHunting community is always working to discover new tactics and strategies. As such, my work is not done. Check out the Nibbler for (almost) daily news on the happenings in the MouseHunt world, and check back here often for new additions to this guide as I get around to them. Until then, happy MouseHunting!

MouseHunt Walkthrough -section 3-

The original post :http://interactive.onlinemathlearning.com/mh-index.php

MouseHunt is a Facebook game where you set traps to catch various weird and wacky mice. Over the years it has developed into a content-rich game, with many paths and possible strategies. It is fun to explore, but there are certain areas where new players might get lost in, not knowing what to do next. That's what this guide is here for. :) The following information is the result of experience and the study of the MouseHunting community.

Chapter 9: Catacombs

* You may be wondering where the Catacombs are. Don't worry, you haven't missed a map or anything.
* The Travel Planner will come in handy here.
* Chart a course from your current location (probably the Pinnacle Chamber) to the Laboratory. Include the Bazaar as a stopover in the "Stopover?" column.
* Travel according to the suggested path. While you are at the Bazaar, hand over the Tattered Mousoleum Map for repairs. It'll cost you 160,000 gold.
* It takes 5 days to complete the order. Hence your final destination of your world tour: the Laboratory. Use:
o Weapon: PartyBot / Ambush
o Base: Dehydration Base
o Cheese: Brie
* Collect another 30 Radioactive Blue Cheese Curd Potions (sorry, it can't be helped).
* You can check on the progress of your order anytime, even from the Laboratory, from Inventory → Cartographer.
* Once you've collected the potions and the order is done, go back to the Bazaar to pick up the Mousoleum Restoration patch.
* A new region, the Bristle Woods, appears, with a new location: the Catacombs.
* Use one or two Radioactive Blue potions in preparation.
* Be sure you have at least 316,350 gold (plus travelling costs) on hand.
* Go to the Catacombs. Immediately buy the Obelisk of Slumber from the trapsmith. You need this trap; no other trap can substitute. Use it with the Explosive Base, and Radioactive Blue cheese.
* This area behaves much like the Mousoleum did before; tough mice, but great rewards. You'll see some old mice from the Mousoleum, and some new mice. They are of a new type; the "Forgotten" type. This type is best caught using an "Arcane" trap, like the Obelisk of Slumber.
* You have 3 goals here:
o Catch a Keeper Mouse with the Keeper's Candle. This is the key to the next locations, the Forbidden Grove (sometimes this location is missing; that's normal), and the Acolyte Realm (note that it is locked; that's also normal). Do not go to those places yet.
o Collect 632,700 gold (yes, I'm aware that's a lot) to buy the Mysterious Blueprints from the General Store.
o Collect 12 pieces of Scrap Metal, dropped by the Scavenger Mice here.
* The Mysterious Blueprints are used to craft your next trap. Before crafting it, make sure you have:
o At least 3,393,600 points
o 1 Mysterious Blueprints (of course)
o 1 Onyx Stone
o 12 Scrap Metal
o 3 Magic Essence
* Magic Essence is obtainable by smashing SUPER|Brie+. Find out how to obtain SUPER|Brie+ here.
* Once you have those items (check it twice!), unequip your Obelisk of Slumber (by equipping another weapon), and smash it with your Hunter's Hammer in the crafting panel. You'll get 1 Obelisk Parts.
* Craft the Obelisk Parts with the other ingredients above (except the points :p) to get your Arcane Capturing Rod Of Never Yielding Mystery (or the ACRONYM for short).
* Note that the ACRONYM has an "Insanely Stale" cheese effect. Switch to the Polar Base or Dehydration Base to counteract this effect.
* If you accidentally smashed the Obelisk of Slumber while lacking ingredients, you may reconstruct it by crafting the Obelisk Parts with the Bead of Slumber from the General Store. It'll set you back 2,000 gold, but that's better than having to buy it again.
* Once you have crafted the ACRONYM, continue hunting until you run out of Radioactive Blue, then continue to the next chapter.
* The Scrap Metal may be a bit hard to come by. If you ran out of Radioactive Blue cheese, don't have the 12 needed to craft the ACRONYM, but have the Keeper's Candle, you don't have to go back to the Laboratory. Just grab the Mysterious Blueprints, and continue to the next chapter.

Chapter 10: Forbidden Grove/Acolyte Realm

* Notice that the Curds and Whey in the Catacombs are extremely cheap; only 3 gold per unit. Go ahead and stock about 500 units.
* You do not need to stock much cheese for the next areas. Take along about 50 Brie, just in case; refund the rest at the Town of Gnawnia. Now, you may ask, how will you hunt without cheese? Well...
o You may have noticed a crafting item called Stale Cheese, created every time cheese goes stale on your trap.
o Stale Cheese is used to make Ancient and Runic cheese, which are needed to hunt in the next areas.
o You should have about 100+ of it, maybe slightly less if you've been hunting since before Stale Cheese was released. Nevertheless, you'll find yourself needing more soon enough.
o For this reason you need trap components that have the worst cheese effect ratings possible. If you still do not have the Explosive Base, buy it now. If you don't have a weapon with a "Very Stale" rating or worse (see ranking here), buy the Mouse Rocketine.
* Now go to the Bazaar. Stock about 400 Ionized Salt, more if you can afford it. Just make sure to keep enough for travels, and keep in mind that you will have to use what you buy, since Ionized Salt refunds for less than the purchase price. Also stock as much regular Salt as you have Curds and Whey. Do not confuse the two types of salt.
* In the previous chapter, I have mentioned some unusual properties of the Forbidden Grove and the Acolyte Realm. Here I shall further explain them.
o Basically, the Forbidden Grove stays "open" for 3 hours at a time.
o After this it "closes", disappears from the travel menu, and sends any hunters that are in it into the Acolyte Realm. This is the only way to access the Acolyte Realm.
o The Forbidden Grove then stays "closed" for three hours before "opening" again. Hunters in the Acolyte Realm have to manually travel back to the Forbidden Grove if they wish to hunt there.
* The Forbidden Grove Timer is useful for predicting the next opening and closing times.
* UPDATE: The period of time the Forbidden Grove opens and closes by seems to have changed recently. Stay tuned for updates.
* Wait till the Forbidden Grove is open. If it is open, but there are less than 30 minutes left till closing time, wait for the next opening time. While waiting, you can hunt in the Bazaar using:
o Weapon: PartyBot / Ambush
o Base: Dehydration Base
o Cheese: Brie
* Prepare for the Forbidden Grove by crafting some Ancient cheese, with the following recipe (makes 3 pieces):
o 3 Stale Cheese
o 6 Ionized Salt
* You can also add 3 Magic Essence to the recipe to make 3 more pieces, if you have the SUPER|Brie+ to spare. I recommend however, that you save any SUPER|Brie+ you may have for Runic cheese, detailed later in this chapter.
* You may also have collected some Ancient Cheese Curd Potions from the Catacombs. You may use them if you like, but they are very expensive to use, at the cost of 1,900 gold per piece of Brie converted. Even SUPER|Brie+ requires 900 gold a piece to convert. It's probably better to use the Stale Cheese instead.
* You only need to craft 15 to 18 pieces of Ancient for each visit to the Forbidden Grove, since you'll only be staying there for 3 hours.
* Also craft about 50+ White Cheddar using the following simple recipe (makes 1 piece):
o 1 Curds and Whey
o 1 Salt
* Once the Forbidden Grove is open, travel to it. Use:
o Weapon: ACRONYM / Obelisk of Slumber
o Base: Dehydration Base (with ACRONYM) / Explosive Base (with Obelisk of Slumber)
o Cheese: Ancient
* There are more "Forgotten" mice here. They are tough; even the ACRONYM may have some trouble catching them. Nevertheless, if you got this far, you should be used to tough areas by now. Stick it out; the rewards are worth it.
* The Scavenger Mice here still drop Scrap Metal, which will help you craft the ACRONYM if you haven't yet.
* Mice here also drop Runes. Collect as many as you can. The Scavenger Mouse in particular can drop up to 7 or 8 runes at a time!
* When the grove closes, you'll be automatically transported to the Acolyte Realm.
* What do you do here? Well, you have 4 choices:
* 1. Craft and use Runic cheese
o Note: If you still haven't crafted the ACRONYM, this strategy may not be profitable. I recommend you save your Runes until you have the ACRONYM.
o If you have managed to collect some Runes, you can use it to craft Runic cheese with this recipe (makes 1 piece):
+ 1 Rune
+ 1 Stale Cheese
+ 3 Ionized Salt
o You can also add 1 Magic Essence to the recipe to make another piece. This allows you to make more Runic cheese from the Runes you have.
o With the Runic cheese, you will attract Golem, Gorgon, and Spectre mice, which you may have seen in the Forbidden Grove. You'll also attract some new mice, the Wight, Lich, and Acolyte mice.
o The new mice can be quite hard to catch, and are mainly a source of bragging rights. The Acolyte Mouse, in particular, is a mouse of the "Arcane" type, which no trap you currently have access to is effective against, as you can see by this table. Nevertheless, there is a very small chance that you might catch it; if you do, congratulations! The Acolyte Mouse has a chance to drop the Mysterious Box.
o You'll be able to craft a trap that will make it easier to catch the Acolyte much later; for now, don't worry if you couldn't catch one.
* 2. Continue using Ancient cheese
o Note: If you still haven't crafted the ACRONYM, this strategy may not be profitable.
o You can continue using the Ancient cheese you were using in the Forbidden Grove.
o However, it isn't as efficient a use for the Ancient cheese; you will earn less gold on average, won't attract the new mice, and you can't get any Scrap Metal or Runes here.
o Nevertheless, this strategy can be used to easily catch the Gate Guardian Mouse, which is more common here than in the Forbidden Grove.
* 3. Create more Stale Cheese
o If you did not manage to collect any Runes, or used up all your Runic, you can use this time to create more Stale Cheese.
o To do this, switch to your stalest trap setup. Use the ACRONYM if you have it, otherwise use the Mouse Rocketine. Use the Explosive Base.
o Use the White Cheddar you crafted. If you run out of Curds and Whey or Salt to craft White Cheddar, you may use any regular Cheddar you may have received from King's Rewards.
o You won't attract any mice, but you should produce a lot of Stale Cheese for later use.
* 4. Hunt elsewhere
o If you've lots of Stale Cheese already and don't feel like making more, you can use this time to hunt elsewhere.
o As you're only going to hunt there for 3 hours, travel costs are important. Use the Travel Planner to chart your course.
o Choose a cheap location. I recommend either the Bazaar or the Town of Digby. Use:
+ Weapon: PartyBot / Ambush
+ Base: Dehydration Base
+ Cheese: Brie
* Whatever you choose to do, watch for the time the Forbidden Grove reopens. Once it does, craft more Ancient and go back there for more hunting. If you had changed your trap setup for staling, remember to change it back.
* Try to plan it so that you can stay on your computer for the duration that the Forbidden Grove will be open, so you can sound the horn and maximize the hunting you do there. If you won't be on the computer when the Forbidden Grove closes, it's probably best to just leave your trap at the Acolyte Realm.
* Continue this until you run out of Ionized Salt and Ancient Cheese.
* Once you do, you can either restock Ionized Salt and Cheddar and resume hunting here, or you can continue to the next chapter.

Chapter 11: Catching up

* The Whisker Woods is a relatively new region. I have included mention of a few locations in it (the Calm Clearing and the Great Gnarled Tree) in the previous chapters because it gives you something to do while leveling up. Plus the mice just look darn cool. :p
* This chapter is intended for those who either had progressed through the other regions before the release of the Whisker Woods, or missed the maps the first time round.
* If you don't have access to the Calm Clearing:
o You need to hunt in the Harbour, and catch a Granite Mouse that has the Whisker Woods Clearing Map Piece. Use:
+ Weapon: PartyBot / Ambush
+ Base: Wooden Base with Target
+ Cheese: Brie
* If you don't have access to the Great Gnarled Tree:
o You need to hunt in the Calm Clearing, and catch a Cyclops Mouse that has the Gnarled Tree Map Piece. Use:
+ Weapon: PartyBot / Ambush
+ Base: Dehydration Base
+ Cheese: Brie
* Once you have both maps, you may move on to the next chapter.

Chapter 12: Great Gnarled Tree/Lagoon

* Go to the Great Gnarled Tree. Use:
o Weapon: PartyBot / Ambush
o Base: Dehydration Base
o Cheese: Brie
* Catch a Fairy Mouse with the Map of the Lagoon. If you've been here, you may already have this; check your inventory.
* Also collect 30 Gnarled Cheese Curd Potions. Yes, you can say the Great Gnarled Tree is to the Lagoon what the Laboratory is to the Mousoleum and Catacombs.
* Before travelling to the Lagoon, let's consider what trap setup you would use.
* As you might have guessed, you'd want to use the Gnarled cheese here, but what about the trap? Checking the wiki entry for the Lagoon reveals a rather curious property. There are mostly Physical and Tactical type mice here, however there are two Shadow type mice, and one mouse of a new "Hydro" type.
* This means there is no one strategy to use in the Lagoon; what setup you'd use largely depends on your goals here.
o 1. If you're just trying to earn the most gold and points, aim for the Physical and Tactical mice. This means to use the PartyBot or Ambush with the Dehydration Base.
o 2. If you're trying to catch the Shadow mice here (i.e. the Goblin and the Harpy), use the ACRONYM with the Dehydration Base. Expect to miss a lot of Tactical mice however.
o 3. If you're trying to get to the next area, the S.S. Huntington II, you want to aim for the sole Hydro mouse in this area, the Hydra Mouse, which has a chance of dropping an important item, the Ship Blueprints.
+ However, you may have noticed that you do not have access to a "Hydro" trap yet.
+ According to this table, the next best thing will be a Physical trap, as the other types of trap are less effective against Hydro mice.
+ If you have the PartyBot, use it. If you don't have it, you may want to go to the Town of Digby to purchase the Digby Drillbot (409,500 gold). It is rather pricey, but worth the expense, as it is useful in later locations and can be upgraded.
# If you need to make more gold, read this for information on how to best make gold from the Catacombs.
+ Use the Dehydration Base with the PartyBot, or the Explosive Base with the Digby Drillbot.
* Whew. Once you have decided what setup to use, arm it with the Gnarled cheese, then go to the Lagoon.
* If you manage to acquire the Ship Blueprints, you can then craft the Ship, a.k.a. the S.S. Huntington II, using this recipe:
o 1 Ship Blueprints
o 900 Splintered Wood (available at the Training Grounds General Store)
o 100 Rope (available here at the Lagoon General Store)
o 70 Bolts of Cloth (also available here at the Lagoon General Store)
o 18 Scrap Metal (may be dropped by the Hydra. If you can't get enough here, you can go back to the Forbidden Grove.)
o 1 King's Reserve Bubbleh (available here at the Lagoon General Store)
* However, you may note that this requires 6 ingredients, so Legendaries can't craft the Ship safely. Or can they? If you use the recipe without the King's Reserve Bubbleh, you'll get an Unchristened Ship. Craft that with the Bubbleh to get the Ship! Tada!
* The ingredients for the Ship are rather pricey and can cost upwards of 600,000 gold combined. If you need more gold, go back to the Catacombs.
* What if you can't get the Ship Blueprints? Well, you may have spotted it on sale back at the Catacombs General Store. However, at 750,000 gold, this is by no means a cheap option.

MouseHunt Walkthrough -section 2-

The original post :http://interactive.onlinemathlearning.com/mh-index.php

MouseHunt is a Facebook game where you set traps to catch various weird and wacky mice. Over the years it has developed into a content-rich game, with many paths and possible strategies. It is fun to explore, but there are certain areas where new players might get lost in, not knowing what to do next. That's what this guide is here for. :) The following information is the result of experience and the study of the MouseHunting community.

Chapter 4: Laboratory (Master)

* If you had collected 4 Splintered Wood, craft the Dehydration Base using this recipe.
o NOTE: If you're still Journeyman, attempting to craft this base could result in failure, losing all your ingredients.
o 1 Dehydration Base Blueprints
o 213 Salt
o 4 Splintered Wood
* Do not go to the Great Gnarled Tree yet; go the Laboratory first. Use:
o Weapon: PartyBot (if you have it) / Swiss Army Mouse Trap
o Base: Dehydration Base (if you crafted it) / Explosive Base
o Cheese: Swiss. Also take along about 300 Brie, but don't use it.
* Hunt until you acquire:
o Zombie Mouse with the Tattered Mousoleum Map. Do not go to the Mousoleum just yet.
o Dwarf Mouse with the Key to the Town of Digby.
o At least 33 Radioactive Blue Cheese Curd Potions. Yes, it may take a while to accumulate these, but it'll pay off. These are used to make Radioactive Blue cheese, which is needed in the Mousoleum.
o There is a way to speed up the process. Radioactive Blue Cheese Curd Potions are more effective on SUPER|Brie+ than Brie, converting more per potion. If you use SUPER|Brie+, you don't need as many potions to create the same amount of Radioactive Blue cheese. Find out how to obtain SUPER|Brie+ here.

Chapter 5a: Town of Digby/Mousoleum

* Go to the Town of Digby. Setup doesn't matter much, as we aren't going to hunt there.
o If you have the PartyBot, you do not need to go to the Town of Digby or buy a trap there.
* Buy the Sinister Portal (140,600 gold). If you already have the Ambrosial Portal, use that instead.
* Go to Inventory → Potions.
* Convert your Brie into Radioactive Blue using the Radioactive Blue Cheese Curd Potions.
o Using the potions will consume gold, so you do not have to convert all your Brie at once; just convert with 1 or 2 potions, and use the gold you'll be earning to convert more.
o Also note that as you level up, your potions become more effective and can convert more cheese. This is another reason not to use all your potions at once.
* Go to the Mousoleum. Use:
o Weapon: PartyBot / Sinister Portal / Ambrosial Portal. Do not use any other weapon.
o Base: Dehydration Base (with PartyBot) / Explosive Base (with Portals)
o Cheese: Radioactive Blue. No other cheese is effective.
o Most of the mice in the Mousoleum are of type "Shadow", which is resistant to "Physical" traps. This is why you must use a "Shadow" trap to catch them, and why I discouraged buying the NVMRC Forcefield / Mouse Deathbot.
o Exception: The PartyBot. The mice are resistant to it, but it has high enough power to catch the few physical mice in the Mousoleum, and its high luck means that it doesn't do too bad against shadow mice either. Statistics show that the PartyBot actually earns more gold than the Sinister Portal. You may safely ignore the "my trap was less effective against this mouse" messages.
o The Mousoleum mice are tougher than you may be used to. You will miss a fair amount of mice, and they steal more than the mice in the other areas. However, the mice here are also worth far more than other areas, making the Mousoleum one of the best areas to make gold in. Just make sure that you're using the correct setup.
* Continue hunting, converting Brie into Radioactive Blue as needed.
* Attempt to catch a Lycan Mouse with the Shredded Furoma Map Piece.
* If you run out of Radioactive Blue potions before catching one, you may either go back to the Laboratory to find more potions, or craft Moon Cheese, which increases the attraction rate for Lycans in the Mousoleum greatly, using this recipe:
o 1 Meteorite, dropped by Granite Mice in the Town of Digby. Use the same setup you were using in the Laboratory.
+ If you're lucky, you may find a Mole Mouse with the Shredded Furoma Map Piece while hunting in Digby, but they are quite rare.
o 3 Curds and Whey, obtainable from the Harbour General Store.
o 2 Magic Essence, obtainable by smashing SUPER|Brie+. Find out how to obtain SUPER|Brie+ here.
* Once you have the Shredded Furoma Map Piece, continue hunting in the Mousoleum, using potions as you go.
* Save about 30 Radioactive Blue Cheese; if you used it all up, go back to the Laboratory for a few potions. Then continue to the next chapter.

Chapter 5b: Great Gnarled Tree

* Go to the Great Gnarled Tree.
* What trap do you use here? There are quite a number of Tactical mice here, so you'll need a Tactical type trap. Actually you don't need one right now, but you'll be going to an area with even more Tactical mice soon, so you might as well get one now.
* If you happen to have the Snow Barrage, use that here with the Dehydration Base and Swiss cheese.
* If you do not have the Snow Barrage, buy the Venus Mouse Trap from the trapsmith here. Use it with the Explosive Base and Swiss cheese.
* Hunt until you have at least 827,500 points. Once you have that, you will be able to upgrade the Venus Mouse Trap.
* You may have noticed back in the Mousoleum that whenever Radioactive Blue Cheese goes stale on your trap, you receive a crafting item called the Radioactive Sludge.
* You need 20 of these, which you likely don't have. Thus, equip the trap setup with the worst cheese effect ratings possible.
* For most, this will be the Sinister Portal with Explosive Base. If you don't have that, get the Mouse Rocketine from the Town of Gnawnia, which in fact has an even worse cheese effect.
* Do not use trap components with a high attraction bonus, like the Tacky Glue Trap.
* Equip your remaining Radioactive Blue Cheese and hunt in the Town of Gnawnia.
* Your attraction rate will be extremely low, but you will collect Radioactive Sludge every time your cheese goes stale. Again, you need 20 of these; check your progress with your crafting panel, accessible via Inventory → Crafting.
* Once you have that, go to your crafting panel, click the green arrow by the Hunter's Hammer, and smash your Venus Mouse Trap. You will get a Venus Mouse Trap Husk.
* Now enter this recipe into the crafting panel:
o 1 Venus Mouse Trap Husk
o 20 Radioactive Sludge
* Hit the Combine Items button. Cackle evilly while doing so (optional, but fun). It's… alive!
* Behold, a Mutated Venus Mouse Trap! Equip that with the Dehydration Base and Swiss cheese and continue hunting in the Great Gnarled Tree.
* If you had accidentally smashed the Venus Mouse Trap without the required points or Radioactive Sludge, you can easily reconstruct it by crafting with the Venus Mouse Trap Husk alone.
* You may collect some Gnarled Cheese Curd Potions, or if you're really lucky, the Map of the Lagoon. Save these for later.
* Continue hunting until you reach Grandmaster.

Chapter 6: Training Grounds/Bazaar (Grandmaster)

* Do not go to the Lagoon yet. Though the game allows you to go there as a Grandmaster, there are important traps and items that you need to acquire in the other regions.
* Make sure you're stocked up on Swiss. Buy more from the Town of Gnawnia if necessary, but leave enough for travel.
* If you haven't got the Dehydration Base Blueprints from the Harbour yet, go and get it now. Also get 213 Salt.
* Go to the Training Grounds. What trap do you use? Notice that most of the mice here are of the Tactical type, as detailed in the last chapter. So use:
o Weapon: Snow Barrage / Mutated Venus Mouse Trap
o Base: Dehydration Base
o Cheese: Swiss; if you need more, do not buy from the Cheese Shoppe there, as it costs twice what the Town of Gnawnia charges.
* I do not recommend that you buy the Zugzwang's Last Move sold in the Trapsmith here. If you do not have the weapons listed, I recommend you backtrack to acquire the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap, as it is superior and can be upgraded later in the game. However, if you already have the Zugzwang's Last Move, use it with the Explosive Base.
* Note that the General Store here sells Splintered Wood. If you haven't had enough to craft the Dehydration Base, you may buy what you needed, and craft it now. Here's the recipe again:
o 1 Dehydration Base Blueprints
o 213 Salt
o 4 Splintered Wood
* Hunt until you get the Ticket to the Burroughs Bazaar from one of the mice.
* Before leaving the Training Grounds, go to the General Store. Stock:
o 10 Burroughs Salmon
o 10 Nori
o 3 Rice Paper
o 15 Splintered Wood
* You may sell some of your Swiss to the Cheese Shoppe right here in the Training Grounds to raise the gold needed.
* Now go back to the Town of Gnawnia. Sell back your Swiss (and other cheese you may have received from King's Rewards) and buy Brie (yes, your last upgrade)
* Now it's off to the Bazaar.
* As soon as you arrive, go to the Cartographer, and turn in your Shredded Furoma Map. It will cost you 90,000 gold. If you had bought too much Brie, you may refund them at the Cheese Shoppe right here in the Bazaar.
* It takes approximately 24 hours to repair the Shredded Furoma Map. While waiting, you may hunt in the Bazaar. Use:
o Weapon: PartyBot / Snow Barrage / Mutated Venus Mouse Trap / Zugzwang's Last Move
o Base: Dehydration Base
o Cheese: Brie; again, do not buy from the Cheese Shoppe here.
* Check on the progress of the Furoma map repairs.
* Once repair is complete, pick up your Furoma Map Stitch from the Cartographer. Note that you now have three new areas in Furoma open to you: the Dojo, the Meditation Room, and the Pinnacle Chamber.
* Before leaving the Bazaar, go to the General Store. Stock:
o 10 Cheesy Fluffs
o 300 Curds and Whey
o 10 Invisi-glu
o 10 Ionized Salt
o 10 Paint-brand Paint
o 8 Droid Parts (if you can't afford these, come back later, but get the others)
* Again, you may sell some of your Brie to the Cheese Shoppe right here in the Bazaar to raise the gold needed.

Chapter 7: Dojo

* Travel to the Dojo. Use:
o Weapon: Snow Barrage / Mutated Venus Mouse Trap / Zugzwang's Last Move
o Base: Dehydration Base (with Snow Barrage or Mutated Venus Mouse Trap) / Explosive Base (with Zugzwang's Last Move)
o Cheese: Brie
* You'll find much of the same mice here that you did in the Training Grounds. Except you won't find any White Mice or Dwarf Mice here. Instead, there are three notable new mice, each of which drop a special crafting item:
o Student of the Cheese Claw — drops the Token of the Cheese Claw.
o Student of the Cheese Fang — drops the Token of the Cheese Fang.
o Student of the Cheese Belt — drops the... argh, you can figure this one out. :p
* Most students will drop their corresponding token when caught, however there is a small minority (about 1%) that won't. It is not a bug, although it is often mistaken for one.
* Each of these tokens are used to craft a specific type of cheese, used to catch a specific mouse in the Meditation Room. Here are the cheeses and their recipes:
o Susheese — used to catch the Master of the Cheese Claw:
+ 3 Tokens of the Cheese Claw
+ 3 Curds and Whey
+ 1 Nori
+ 1 Burroughs Salmon
o Combat — used to catch the Master of the Cheese Fang:
+ 3 Tokens of the Cheese Fang
+ 5 Curds and Whey
+ 1 Splintered Wood
+ 1 Paint-brand Paint
o Glutter — used to catch the Master of the Cheese Belt:
+ 3 Tokens of the Cheese Belt
+ 7 Curds and Whey
+ 1 Invisi-glu
+ 1 Cheesy Fluffs
* All recipes above make 3 pieces of cheese. Note you can't double these recipes to make double the cheese; the quantities have to be entered exactly. The good news is you only have to enter each recipe once; once you do, it can be recalled from the "Previously Crafted" drop-down box, as long as you have the ingredients.
* Once you have crafted some of these special cheeses, you can try your luck using them in the Meditation Room. Note that the cost of traveling is only 25 each way, so you can choose how often you want to go.
* Your goal is to catch one of each type of Master. Once you have caught one of a certain type, do not continue hunting with that cheese. Either switch to a different crafted cheese, or return to the Dojo ground floor.
o The Master of the Cheese Claw drops the Master Claw Shard
o The Master of the Cheese Fang drops the Master Fang Shard
o The Master of the Cheese Belt drops the... well...
* Combine all three shards (just throw one of each into the recipe) to create the Master's Seal.
* Now return to the Dojo ground floor, and be on the lookout for the Ambush Trap Blueprints. These may be dropped by either the Assassin Mouse or the Worker Mouse.
* Once you have it (you may have already got it while hunting the students), you may attempt to craft the Ambush.
o Keep in mind, however, that as a Grandmaster, you will need to use a red box, and thus may fail, losing all your ingredients.
o The chance of failure seems to be about 50%. There is no way to affect this probability; it is not affected by your percentage progress across your Grandmaster rank, or the order in which you put the ingredients in. The only "safe" way of crafting the Ambush is to wait until Legendary.
o That said, here's the recipe:
+ 1 Ambush Trap Blueprints
+ 1 Master's Seal
+ 3 Rice Paper
+ 5 Splintered Wood
+ 8 Droid Parts
* So, to craft it or not? Personally, I'd say no. Partly because I am risk-averse (read: chicken :p), and partly because you are going to have to wait for Legendary anyway.
* However, you may have a different opinion. Having the Ambush will improve performance in the Dojo. Just note that the closer you are to Legendary, the less you have to gain from crafting the Ambush early, and the greater your possibility of not being able to reacquire your ingredients before hitting Legendary, thus delaying your progress. If your progress bar is 70% or more, you should definitely wait for Legendary.
* In any case, continue hunting until you reach Legendary, collecting as many tokens as you can.
o If you're having trouble collecting tokens, and you have the SUPER|Brie+ to spare, you could try crafting Maki cheese, which greatly increases the attraction rate of Students. The recipe is as follows (makes 3 pieces):
+ 1 Nori
+ 3 Curds and Whey
+ 3 Magic Essence (obtainable by smashing SUPER|Brie+)
* If you were waiting to craft the Ambush, or had failed the first time and reacquired the ingredients, you may craft it safely now. :)
* If you still do not have the Ambush Trap Blueprints, go to the Meditation Room and just use Brie. Or, you may use any Swiss you may have received from King's Rewards, to minimize gold loss. You will catch a lot of Hapless Mice; you may have noticed this mouse in the Dojo, and cursed its low point and gold return. However, the Hapless Mice in the Meditation Room have a chance of dropping the Ambush Trap Blueprints; as the Hapless is very easy to catch, you will get many chances.

Chapter 8: Meditation Room/Pinnacle Chamber (Legendary)

* You should now be Legendary, and have crafted the Ambush.
* Now craft as much Susheese, Combat, and Glutter as you can.
* Go to the Meditation Room. Use the Ambush and the Explosive Base.
* Use up all your crafted cheese, catching as many Masters as you can. Do not combine the shards.
* Now it's time to move to the Pinnacle Chamber, just like in those old kung-fu movies, to face the "boss" of Furoma, the Master of the Dojo Mouse (often nicknamed "Mojo").
* You need another crafted cheese to hunt here: the Rumble. The recipe is as follows (makes 3 pieces):
o 1 Ionized Salt
o 20 Curds and Whey
o 1 Master Claw Shard
o 1 Master Fang Shard
o 1 Master Belt Shard
* Note that this recipe uses 5 ingredients, which is the main reason you had to wait for Legendary.
* If you had accidentally combined the shards, you can substitute 1 Master's Seal in place of the shards, but it only makes one piece of Rumble.
* Make as much Rumble as you can, and hunt till you run out. Hopefully, you catch at least one Master of the Dojo Mouse. The important thing is to collect its loot, the Onyx Stone. You only really need one, if you get more, it's icing on the cake.
* If you do not get it, you can either catch more Students and Masters and try again, or you can move on to the next chapters. However, you will need the Onyx Stone eventually.

MouseHunt Walkthrough -section 1-

The original post :http://interactive.onlinemathlearning.com/mh-index.php

MouseHunt is a Facebook game where you set traps to catch various weird and wacky mice. Over the years it has developed into a content-rich game, with many paths and possible strategies. It is fun to explore, but there are certain areas where new players might get lost in, not knowing what to do next. That's what this guide is here for. :) The following information is the result of experience and the study of the MouseHunting community.

Section I: Gnawnia

Chapter 1: Town of Gnawnia/Meadow (Novice)
  • If you're just starting the game, pick the Tacky Glue Trap. It is slightly less powerful, but attracts a lot more mice. If you already have the High Tension Spring, use that instead.
  • Buy all the Cheddar you can afford, except for 25 gold, and travel to the Meadow.
  • If you run out of cheese, go back to the Town of Gnawnia, buy more Cheddar, and return.
  • Continue until you can afford the Wooden Base With Target (cost: 1,225 gold) from the Town of Gnawnia trapsmith. Be sure to leave some spare change for cheese and travel expenses. You can sell back the Wooden Base to the trapsmith if you desire.
    • It's up to you whether you want to sell back traps. Some hunters like to keep a collection of their old traps, for sentimental or experimentation purposes. The gold may be helpful toward the purchase of your next trap, but then again it isn't that much, so it's up to you really.
  • Continue hunting in the Meadow until you can afford the 500 Pound Spiked Crusher (cost: 3,450 gold, remember to leave some spare change) from the Town of Gnawnia trapsmith. If you already have the Mouse Mary O'Nette, use that instead. Sell back the Tacky Glue Trap or High Tension Spring, if you like.
  • Avoid the Stone Base; while it has increased power, it attracts a lot less mice.
  • Now hunt in the Town of Gnawnia.
  • Continue until you can afford the Mouse Trebuchet (cost: 15,850 gold + spare change). If you already have the Mouse Rocketine, use that instead. Sell back the 500 Pound Spiked Crusher or Mouse Mary O'Nette if you like.
    • This is the first item that you may find yourself taking some time to save up for. Take heart that it's pretty much like this from here on out; you'll pretty much be constantly saving gold for traps and other expenses you'll be needing. This is probably a good time to read the Gold and SUPER|Brie+ appendix for some ideas.
    • There are certain groups of kind MouseHunters, who are willing to help new players out, with competitions, trap funding programs, or advice programs. A list can be found in the Links appendix of this guide. The NVMRC in particular has a program specifically to help new players buy the Trebuchet.
  • Once you have about 1,000 gold, switch to Marble cheese.
  • Continue hunting until you reach Apprentice.

Chapter 2: Harbour (Apprentice)
  • Buy all the Marble you can afford, and travel to the Harbour, using the Mouse Rocketine or Mouse Trebuchet, with the Wooden Base with Target.
  • Note that mice can steal gold, extra pieces of cheese, and points ("crippling your courage"), in the Harbour and most subsequent areas. Do not be overwhelmed by this; your trap is strong enough.
  • Hunt in the Harbour until you can afford the Swiss Army Mouse Trap (70,300 gold) from the Town of Gnawnia trapsmith. Once you do, upgrade to Swiss cheese (nice mnemonic huh?). Sell back Mouse Trebuchet if you like; but if you happen to have gotten the Mouse Rocketine instead, keep it.
  • If you can afford it, buy and use the Explosive Base (29,775 gold) during one of your stops in the Town of Gnawnia. Do not sell back the Wooden Base with Target; it is useful if you want to attract as many mice as possible.
  • Catch a Granite Mouse with a Whisker Woods Clearing Map Piece (note that not all granite mice will drop a map).
  • Continue hunting until you reach Journeyman.
  • Before leaving the Harbour, buy the following from the General Store:
    • 1 Dehydration Base Blueprints
    • 213 Salt
  • If you can't afford these, don't worry; you can come back for them later.

Chapter 3: Mountain/Calm Clearing (Journeyman)
  • Buy all the Swiss you can afford from the Town of Gnawnia, and travel to the Mountain, using the Swiss Army Mouse Trap, with the Explosive Base.
    • You can sometimes save gold in travelling by making detours. Use the Travel Planner to find them.
  • Hunt until you catch a Ninja Mouse with a Burroughs Laboratory Map Piece. You must have this map piece to continue in the game.
  • If you have the Whisker Woods Clearing Map Piece, you may go to the Calm Clearing. If you don't have it, go back to the Harbour to find it.
  • Now go to the Calm Clearing, catch a Cyclops Mouse with a Gnarled Tree Map Piece.
  • Avoid buying the NVMRC Forcefield Trap or the Mouse Deathbot. These traps are powerful, but mice in many later areas are resistant to "physical" traps. The gold is best saved for the special traps needed to catch these mice.
    • If you have a lot of gold from gifts from a friend (please do not beg), winning a competition, or from donating and selling SUPER|Brie+, the NVMRC Forcefield Trap is preferred over the Mouse Deathbot.
  • Exception: If you had acquired a limited-edition Party Hat from either Ronza or a gift from a Birthday Mouse:
    • Buy the Mouse Deathbot (256,400 gold).
    • Unequip the Mouse Deathbot (by equipping another weapon).
    • Go to Inventory → Crafting.
    • NOTE: If you're reading ahead and are still Apprentice, do not follow the instructions below! Note that you have one white box and one red box in the crafting panel. This means that you can't safely combine the Party Hat with the Deathbot. Should you attempt to do so you have a chance of failure, losing your expensive Deathbot and the irreplaceable Party Hat! If you wait till you're a Journeyman, you'll gain another white box, allowing you to safely craft it.
    • Click the green arrow to the right of the Hunter's Hammer.
    • Smash the Mouse Deathbot! You'll acquire Deathbot Parts.
    • Craft the Party Hat with the Deathbot Parts to create the PartyBot!
  • Try to collect 4 pieces of Splintered Wood. Don't worry if you don't get them, you get to buy these later.
  • Continue hunting until you reach Master.

Mafia Wars Tips & Trick Energy

ENERGY
Don't use energy packs simply to level up. Using them for the sake of leveling is a waste since you are already able to level up off of a single energy bar. Additionally, if you are following this guide, do not use energy packs before level 100. Using them before level 100 is a waste, since it only takes an hour or 2 to hit level 100 following this strategy guide. To make full use of an energy pack, you need a lot of energy to make it worthwhile. If you aren't following this guide step by step and are just looking to be a better player, you can still use this same strategy to your advantage.

Collecting Cameras

The best use for an energy pack is to stock up on Untraceable Cell Phones, Concealable Cameras, and Computer Set-ups. You need around 400 cell phones, probably around 500 or 600 concealable cameras, and 250 computer set-ups to master all the jobs. Computer Set-Ups are also used to obtain the highest defense armor (Falsified Documents), so you can never get enough of those either. The problem is, the "Rob an Electronics Store" job is one of the least efficient jobs in the game, making it very hard to collect these consumable items. However, with an energy pack, you will easily be able to level up off of doing an inefficient job like "Rob an Electronics Store". Therefore, your energy pack should be used to collect these consumable items. Just use all of your energy on robbing an electronics store, then use the energy pack, then do the same job until you level up.

Demote your Mastermind

When using an energy pack to collect items, the goal is now not leveling up, but collecting as many items as possible with your energy pack. For this reason, it is important here to come into a fresh level without any extra experience points. Additionally, you should demote your top mafia mastermind so that you can do the job more times. If this is confusing you, think of it this way. Let's say you are level 100, and you have 750 energy, and you need 1250 experience points to level up. With an energy pack, you'll have 750 energy + 937 energy for the pack to use for that level.. energy is not a concern when you have an energy pack. Let's say that the electronics store job gives 27 exp. You will be able to do the job 47 times before you level up. However, if you demote your mastermind, the job will only offer 25 exp. You'll now be able to do the job 50 times before you level up. That is 3 extra items that you will be able to collect from demoting your mastermind. It may seem insignificant, but it will definitely add up, especially at high levels! Don't forget to promote your mastermind when your energy pack is used up!

Step by Step process:

1. Keep your energy pack until you level up.

2. Get to a fresh level.

3. Demote your Mastermind.

4. Use all of your energy on robbing the electronics store (enforcer tier).

5. Use your energy pack when you are out of energy.

6. Rob the electronics store until you almost level up.

7. Re-promote your Mastermind.

8. You should do your most expensive job right before you level up so you can get a head start on the next level.

9. Continue leveling!
SAVE ENERGY
One way to cheat in mafia wars is by making the most of your energy. Yes, making the most of your energy. I know it seems like it should only require a little bit of common sense, but let's face it, some people suck at math and energy optimization within mafia wars requires a little bit of foresight and a little bit of math.

Before we begin with the rules on saving energy in mafia wars, we need to know the situations in which saving energy methods will even have an impact on your game. I came up with two situations in which I routinely manipulate my remaining energy to get the most bang for my buck.

In the first scenario we have just leveled up within mafia wars. We have full energy, full health, full stamina, and an entire level's worth of experience to get before we gain our next reward points. For most of us this is a situation in which we must maximize our gains to get us closer to the next level. "How do we maximize our gains?" you ask. I'll tell you.

In order to maximize your experience gains in mafia wars you will need to look at each job you can do closely. Each job is rated for the amount of experience you gain and the amount of energy you use. When you are trying to maximize your experience gains you are going to focus on jobs with the highest experience:energy ratio. Looking at an example from my personal game I have the "Steal an Arms Shipment" job rated at 73 experience and costs 40 energy. The experience:energy ratio then is 73:40 or 1.825. I also have the "Fix the Big Game" job rated at 66 experience and costs 44 energy. The experience:energy ratio on this job is 66:44 or 1.5. Obviously, if I'm trying to maximize my experience then I'm going to do the "Steal an Arms Shipment" job as much as possible and leave the "Fix the Big Game" job for last.

The second scenario you are finding yourself with way more energy than you need to level up, resulting in wasted energy at the end of the level. This can occur if you've been away from the game for a while, allowing your energy to fully refill. For most of us, this is a situation in which we are going to get as many jobs done as we can prior to the level up. To do this we look at jobs that we must do whether we level up or not and pick the ones with the worst experience:energy ratio. This allows us to expend most of our energy before we level up, while completing a larger number of jobs before leveling up, resulting in fewer wasted energy points. Using the same jobs as above, we would want to pick the "Fix the Big Game" job in this situation.

The whole goal with both of these scenarios is to maximize the amount of experience you have gained when you level up. In each of these scenarios there is one more condition to always consider. If the next job you do is going to level you up, then make sure you do provides the most experience with the remaining energy you have available.

Now that you have seen the scenarios in which strategic game play can enhance the experience you gain with the energy you have, you can start making better use of your energy and start leveling up that much faster.

Good luck for u. thx

Mafia Wars Tips & Trick II

This is the guide to help navigate the world of the mafia in Facebook's Mafia Wars, tips and advice to get around the mafia world and start forming a mob.

Facebook has an interactive, online game called Mafia Wars that has taken the social networking scene by storm. The only real issue with the game seems to be in knowing how to play. A definitive guide to Mafia Wars seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle. This guide is intended to help beginners just forming their mafia family.

First, and of foremost importance is to grow the family. This can be achieved by inviting friends, visiting Facebook pages dedicated to growing families and getting in on the networking action. The family must grow to keep doing jobs and gain more strength for fights. This should not be a problem due to the number of people who play Mafia Wars and are constantly seeking new family members themselves.

Second, players should keep leveling up as often as possible. Levels are increased according to experience points. These points are given for jobs and for winning fights. As levels increase new jobs are opened up and new properties and inventory items become available.
Jobs in Mafia Wars

Jobs are useful for acquiring experience points, special items and money. Choosing the job to perform should be a strategic decision based on what the ultimate goal is for doing the job.

Doing jobs to acquire experience points helps to level up quicker. Early levels don’t require a large amount of experience points in order to move up and so doing jobs with the most experience points is a fast way to move up the ladder.

If acquiring special loot items is the goal research what other players have found out in terms of which jobs yield what items. Remember that the job may have to be performed more than one time to yield the loot.

Doing jobs for money is pretty self-explanatory. If acquiring large sums of cash is the ultimate goal, choose jobs that have larger payouts and repeatedly perform them.
Mafia Wars Properties

Buying property is another method of accumulating cash, which is needed to buy weapons. The key to purchasing property is to buy in blocks of 10. The reason is that after the 10th one is purchased, the price goes up.

As wealth accumulates, and it does quickly, focus on buying larger properties that bring in more income. Income accumulates hourly even when not logged in to the game. This is especially helpful in keeping the entire family outfitted for fighting.
Upgrades to Mafia Members

Lastly, new mafia members should be aware of upgrades. As levels are reached mafia bosses are rewarded with points to spend on upgrading their mafia boss character. Each player will develop their own method of upgrading. Attributes that can be upgraded are Attack Strength, Defense Strength, Maximum Energy, Maximum Health and Stamina.

Some players alternate upgrading and attribute and some players focus on one or two attributes. The decision is based on strategy. Attack, defense, stamina and health are all related to fighting and energy is related to doing jobs.

For new players just delving into the underground world of the Mafia, these getting started steps should prove to be helpful. There is no right or wrong way to play Mafia Wars, its all about having fun in the virtual world of the Mafia. Capici.

It’s time for another tips session, and this time, it’s off to the mafia. Mafia Wars seems like a simple game at first glance, but once you get into it, it actually begins to become somewhat complicated with hits, different jobs, adding members, equipping all of them, and so on. What do you buy? What quests do you do? How should you level? These are all questions that are posed by new players, and it can be a bit daunting. Well, we searched high and low for ways to help you out, and hopefully these tips and tricks will help those new players that simply feel overwhelmed.

So you’ve started Mafia Wars and you’re not sure where to start, well, the first choice is easy enough: Pick a “Maniac” class. While earning more cash or health might seem appealing, energy is what allows you to do quests and it is significantly better to earn both cash and experience instead of just one. That said, it’s time to get down to business.

DO NOT add to you mafia right away. Yes, you do want a large mafia to be stronger, but if you are ill-prepared, this is going to hurt more than help. Essentially, you want to have a “Mafia Mikes” and a “Bloody Chainsaw” (please note, that the bloody chainsaw is a special item bought from the home page and will periodically change. For all intents and purposes, the special item tends to have similar stats, and is often interchangable if the chainsaw is gone) for every two members. Here’s the thing though, the game bases the amount of members you need for another one of these items based on your current members. So say you bought a chainsaw with a mafia of 12, but then added 8 people, you’ll now need 22 members to buy another one, thus losing out the extra chainsaws you could have bought at 16, 18, and 20 members. Assuming that you are now equipping properly, it is time to spend some experience points.

Mafia JobsIdeally, you want to put all of your points into energy so you can level faster. Since quests are going to be your primary source of experience and cash (hence why you used maniac), your limiting factor is how fast your energy recharges. Furthermore, energy resets every level, so having an high energy and a fast regeneration can get you to higher levels exponentially faster. Of course, you will want other stats eventually (when that is, is completely up to you), but this will give you a nice start.

Okay, so now you’re leveling at a nice pace and you’re getting those Mafia Mikes and Bloody Chainsaws when you should. What’s next? Why, equipping your mafia of course, and this can be done either via looting or buying. In general, it is better to loot in higher missions, but if you want to be safer, just buy, and if you’ve been doing what’s been said so far, money shouldn’t be a serious issue. The recommended equipment is as follows (once you can buy them of course):

* Weapons: Bloody Chainsaws should be available to half your mafia (since you’ve been buying them every two members right?), thus the other half should utilize the Chain Guns (.50 Caliber Rifle is better once you start looting).
* Armor: Body Armor all around – period. Yes, you can buy other stuff too, but this is a definite purchase.
* Cars: Secondary to armor and weapons, but if you must have one, the Towncar comes recommended.

This should be more than enough to get you started on the right track in Mafia Wars. However, before things get wrapped up, here are some other interesting tips found around the web that should work for both the MySpace and Facebook versions of the game.

* Avoid the Hitlist as best as possible. While it might be fun at higher levels, drawing attention to yourself at lower levels is just going to get you killed over and over again by high level players. Stay under the radar as long as you can.
* If you ever attack someone and get the maximum amount of cash ($70,000), bookmark them and attack them as often as possible.
* When you do start using other stats besides energy, it is best to keep attack and defense equal.

Best Early Cash & Experience Jobs:
o Level 1 – 4: Auto Theft
o Level 5 – 8: Bank Heist
o Level 9 – 12: Museum Break In
o Level 13 – 17: Wiretap the Cops

For every computer game available, on-line or offline, there are secret codes or cheats to get players ahead in the game quickly. Google "Facebook Mafia War cheats" and the reader will be rewarded with a barrage of sites claiming to have the secret cheats or codes.

There are some scripts out there to automate a few actions of the game. One script touts that it automatically sends friend invites to players in the fight window. It may or may not work all the time. Players can advance faster by strategizing instead of hunting cheats.

Grow the FamilyIn Mafia Wars, players form mob families by inviting other Facebook members to join. The more family members a mob has, the stronger they are. The first and ultimately most important key to advancing is to keep the mob family growing. This can be done in a couple of ways:

* Players invite all of their friends to join
* Link to other players on one of the many ‘add me’ pages in FB, thousand of players network on these pages
* Reciprocate when players join their mob family – Mafia War players can be members of more than one mob.

Family Defense

Family members need to be able to defend themselves. It is up to the Boss to make sure each team member has defensive tools. As the family accumulates wealth, the boss should make sure each member has weapons, vehicles, etc.

* Initially, funds will be low, the Boss should focus on growing wealth in order to take care of family
* As wealth is accumulated, Boss should purchase each member of family more weapons

Increase the Wealth

Each Mob Boss will have different strategies for accumulating wealth. Some families focus on more jobs and payouts while other families are more involved in property acquisitions. These strategy tips will help increase the family wealth regardless of the ultimate goal:

* In the early levels of game play, purchase properties with a low investment cost and decent return rate. Mafia Mike’s Delis are an excellent choice; however, the number available for purchase is dependent on the number of family members.
* As the money increases purchase high end properties – the key is to purchase as many as possible at one time. Once a purchase is made, the price increases for the next purchase.
* Beware of the upkeep cost of some high end weapons and vehicles. Make sure money flow is sufficient to cover the costs.

Using Points Strategically

With each level up, players are given reward points by the Godfather. These can be used to increase a variety of attributes, such as attack, defense, energy and more. Where to apply these points depends on the Mafia Boss’ strategy.

* Knocking off rivals and going for kills: this strategy requires using reward points to increase attack, defense, and stamina attributes. This allows the player to knock off other mobs and engage in more fights while staying strong themselves.
* Money Accumulation: this strategy requires putting most reward points into the energy level. Energy enables the family to do more jobs, thus acquiring more money.
